Who I am
kk.editor is a business trading name for Katarzyna (Kasia) Trojanowska. I am a copy-editor, proofreader and text designer registered as a sole trader in the UK. My website address is https://kkeditor.net
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form (such as name and email address), and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
When you send me a message through the contact form on my Contact page, I record your name, email address and nature of your enquiry. I store this information securely on my email host to respond to the query and for any customer service purposes until you request that I delete it. I do not use the information submitted through the contact form for marketing purposes (but I may contact you to seek your permission to do so in the future).
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for 1 year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, the website will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, the website will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for 2 days, and screen options cookies last for 1 year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for 2 weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
This website collects user data through Google Analytics and Jetpack plugins. For the latest information on cookies used by Google Analytics, see their documentation. Jetpack’s privacy notice explains what kind of information they collect about visitors to their clients’ websites.
Who I share your data with
How long I retain your data
If you contact me through the contact form on this website, I retain the information you provided when filling in the form indefinitely or until you request that I delete it, in which case I will do so immediately upon receiving your request.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so the website can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website, I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators (currently, only me, the website owner) can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data are sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Do you have any questions or concerns?
Any privacy-specific concerns should be addressed to the website owner, Ms Kasia Trojanowska, at email@example.com
How your data are protected
I take my clients’ data protection seriously. All data are stored on a password-protected drive to which only I have access and I use a private, secure internet connection. I’ve had training in GDPR requirements.
Data breach procedures
In an unlikely event of a data breach, I endeavour to inform all those affected as soon as possible and advise them what information has been compromised. I will also alert the relevant UK authorities.
What third parties i receive data from
This website does not receive data about users from third parties, such as advertisers.
What automated decision making and/or profiling i do with user data
This website does not perform any automated (non-human) user profiling.
